About Experiments
A directory of well-known psychology studies, written for people learning how psychological evidence is built.
What it covers
16 profiles, from Pavlov's conditioning procedure to the 2018 reassessment of the marshmallow studies. Each one gives the research question, the design, what was found, what the design can and cannot show, the ethics and what later researchers have said. The set is selected, not complete, and a profile is left out when a study could not be supported with sources.
How profiles are written
Profiles are original summaries. They avoid long quotations and say plainly when a detail comes from a source that was not opened. A study is called an experiment only when researchers set the conditions and compared outcomes. Single-case demonstrations, paradigms and simulations are named as such.
What it does not do
It does not diagnose, test or collect anything about you. The practice questions are original and are not stored. It is a study aid and does not replace the papers. Read the sources before citing a result.
